The employer who pleads emotionally for the protection of the workingman's rights against union coercion is not likely to acknowledge even to himself the part that his own self-interest and opposition to strong unions play in his beliefs or to admit that his heated condemnation of union tyranny may stem from hidden self-doubts about his own authoritarian tactics.
