It is idle to pretend that after passing through a dark period of confused counsels, a more mature society is now attempting no more than to restore to health and freedom natural instincts erroneously repressed. For we no longer live in a stable society, much less a mature one, but a society being rent apart by the torrential forces of modern technology and commerce, and one already torn wide open by modern communications, a society in a state of rapid dissolution.
