Text :
...those U.S. trade union leaders who have been the most cooperative in their relations with business and the state may bear a major responsibility for the current weakness of unions. Their accommodations in the form of long-term agreements, legalistic, slow grievance procedures, no-strike clauses, increase recognition of management "rights," and the acceptance of lessened local union representation in the workplace has helped pave the way for an acceleration pace of work, increases in forced overtime, and more recently, lack of solidarity on the picket lines and lowered real wages.
