Spanish Writer, Novelist of Generation of '98, Valencia Graduate

: Spanish writer from the generation of '98 . Baroja, who received his doctorate in medicine, ended up abandoning that profession in favor of literature, an activity in which he cultivated the novel and, to a much lesser extent, the theater. In his work, in which he often betrays a pessimistic attitude, he reflected his individualism. (From: Wikipedia.org.)

Quote #2 on Education Struggle Quotes >> School and Religion

“If there are no schools and the people don't know how to read it is because the priest has convinced them that the truth is found in prayer, not in reading.”
